Neighbourhood Small Grants Return for an Encore
This year, we've already awarded dozens of Neighbourhood Small Grants, but why stop there? We know that Richmond residents of all ages and backgrounds are brimming with brilliant, creative ideas for community projects, so we've decided to open a second round of funding!

That's right: from now until July 13, you can apply for up to $500 to bring your project to life. Maybe it's an art workshop or a film screening or a vegetable garden. Perhaps it involves pets or food or care packages. So long as your project is free, inclusive, and focused on community connection, it's eligible for a Neighbourhood Small Grant!

Basking in the Afterglow of Another Amazing Year
We'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at RCRG's 54th Annual General Meeting!

Held June 17, at the Richmond Caring Place, the event was a celebration of how, together with our volunteers, members, and partners, we Shine a Light for our community, acting as a source of connection, information, and support.

As always, we took the opportunity to recognize volunteers who reached major service milestones this past year, from 100 hours all the way up to 5,000 hours. We also paid tribute to longtime staff members, including Edmond Lam, who's been with our Seniors Community Support Services for five years, and our Executive Director Jocelyn Wong, who's marking 20 years with the agency.

While the AGM is over, our 2025-26 Annual Report is still hot off the press, offering an in-depth look at RCRG's most recent achievements. Click here to read a digital version!
Connect with RCRG at South Arm's Soccer-Themed Block Party
On June 13, RCRG had a great time participating in the Spul'u'kwuks Summer Carnival! Kudos to the school's Parent Advisory Council for organizing a wonderful day filled with fun activities and community spirit!

But that was just the start of our summer events schedule. You can next find RCRG at South Arm’s Neighbourhood Block Party, happening Monday, July 6, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at South Arm Community Park (near the basketball courts).

The soccer-themed event will feature a live World Cup watch party, an inflatable soccer zone, and tons of family-friendly entertainment. There'll be a lot of competition, but we're determined to make the RCRG booth stand out, with games, swag, and - of course - community information galore!

We can't wait to see you there!
RCRG Receives Donation from Richmond Chinatown Lions Club
On June 9, RCRG was one of many community organizations in attendance at the Richmond Chinatown Lions Club's 32nd Annual Appreciation & Installation Dinner. It's a wonderful event, with delicious food, inspiring stories, and an emphasis on the timeless value of community service.

As part of the proceedings, RCRG was presented with a $2,000 donation, in support of our Richmond Christmas Fund program. It's generous gift that will make a big difference to families in need this holiday season!

But of course, it wasn't just our cause. Throughout the evening, well over a dozen organizations received donations, illustrating the vital role the Lions Club and its members play in building a strong, vibrant community. We're proud to be among the long list of beneficiaries, holding a place in the Club's growing legacy of grassroots giving.
